Écopiège® extension

Bark-coloured or transparent extensions for the Écopiège® increase the capacity of the traps. They are indispensable for small-diameter trees (< 0.70 m circumference) or highly infested trees (more than five nests).

Perfect for extreme levels of infestation as the larvae could overflow in the standard ring during capture. The pine processionary caterpillars can easily remain in the ring for more than 15 days before descending into the bag, causing crowding.

Please note: Choose an extension that is the same size as your trap ring.

Do you need an extension? :

• Generally, if the infested tree has a small diameter (less than 0.70 m), you'll need an extension because of the risk of overflow.  A good choice, in this case, is the transparent Écopiège®.
• You cannot install the Écopiège® on a tree with a circumference less than 0.45 m.
• If there are more than 10 nests in the tree, a second descent tube will be needed.
