I'D L

Petzl's I'D L self-braking descender has been primarily designed for rescue. It has an ergonomic handle that allows comfortable descent control. The integrated anti-panic function and anti-error catch limit the risk of an accident due to user error. The AUTO-LOCK system permits you to position yourself without manipulating the handle or tie off the device. Once locked, you need to move the handle to take up the rope. Ropes are allowed to pass through the safety gate while the device remains connected to the harness.

The I'D L has a safety gate on the moving side plate, allowing the rope to pass easily while the device remains connected to the harness. The rope guide and markings help with easy installation. An anti-error catch reduces the risk of accident due to incorrect installation of the device on the rope.

An ergonomic handle allows the rope to be released and enables comfortable control of descents. The two possible descent modes are on the side plate or in the V-shaped friction channel.

An anti-panic function automatically stops the descent if the user pulls too hard on the handle. It allows smooth movement along inclined or horizontal terrain.

The handle automatically switches to storage position when the rope is removed from the device, reducing the risk of accidental snagging when the descender is on the harness.

You can manipulate the cam to feed out slack easily or belay a lead when using climbing techniques. The moving side plate locks with a screw, allowing the I'D L to be added to rescue kits.

An open or closed auxiliary brake can be added to improve descent control depending on the weight and rope diameter.

The stainless-steel wear plate improves durability by reinforcing the rope friction zone.
