The Rope Wrench is a popular tool that works with a friction hitch (Distel hitch) on a single rope for descents and ascents alike.
It attaches easily to the rope above the knot and adds friction to divide the user’s weight between the Wrench and the hitch.
The knot doesn’t completely lock, which allows for smooth and comfortable descents.
The rigid connection sling maintains the Rope Wrench in the correct position on the top above the knot, whilst the pulley pushes the knot towards to top when ascending.
