Tit birdhouse you can put together yourself. Welcoming great tits in your yard is an excellent way to fight against pine and oak processionary larvae and box moth caterpillars.

The grand tit is the only predator that eats these insects at any stage of larva development. A family of tits can eat 500 caterpillars daily—a great reason to place birdhouses so that they can nest in infested areas.

Tits also eat box tree moth caterpillars.

Hang it in the autumn or as winter arrives. Choose a shaded location facing east or south-east that is higher than two metres. Make sure cats cannot access the birdhouse.

Clean the house in September/October. If the house is installed on a tree, make sure the fastening elements do not damage the tree.
