Trap for catching large butterflies: boxwood moths, pine and oak processionaries.
Target insects: butterflies over 3 cm in wingspan such as Thaumetopoea pityocampa, Thaumetopoea processionea, Cydalima perspectalis, Zeuzera pyrina.
Smart Trap components:
The Smart Trap is made up of 3 parts: a bowl, a 32 mm diameter opening funnel and a roof.
Format of attractants associated with the trap: Syringe (ex: Pine T Pro Caps; Box T Pro Caps)
Additional parts: string to suspend the trap, cage to deposit the gel contained in the syringe.
Setting up the trap:
Place the open cage in the roof of the trap. Place 1 drop of formulation by simply pressing the plunger (no need to cut the tip) in the bottom of the bowl. Empty the rest of the contents of the syringe into the cage provided for this purpose and close the cage. Screw the bowl to the upper part of the trap (funnel + roof). It is not necessary to put water in the trap. Male moths attracted by the female sex pheromone enter the trap and are captured.
Where to install the trap? For boxwood, halfway up near the boxwood. For pines and oaks, in the canopy.
